5 Year Old Killed In A Hit And Run… Loved Ones Urge Responsible Party, “Turn Yourself In”

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. —
The Fulton County Police Department is looking for the driver who hit an 5-year-old girl and fled the scene.
It happened at about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on Campbellton Road.

Police said it appeared that Ja’Leah Felix and her older sibling were crossing the street, heading to a park, when the child lost her shoe in the roadway. When she went to retrieve it, a vehicle struck her.
The girl was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, but later died.
Cpl. Kay Lester with the Fulton County Police Department said they are looking for a dark-colored pickup or SUV-style truck.
Tyronn Wilkins witnessed the crash and ran to help Ja’Leah.
“I tried what I could. I couldn’t get her to respond. Finally, the paramedics came,” Wilkins said.
Authorities are urging the driver to turn themself in.
Ja’Leah’s aunt told Channel 2′s Michael Buczyner that the girl lives in College Park with her father and step mother. She said the girl’s mother lives in Colorado.
