Adam Yauch From The Beastie Boys Dies Today…. R.I.P.

This is terrible news for hip-hop. Both GlobalGrind and TMZ have confirmed that the Beastie Boys’ MCA (Adam Yauch August 5, 1964 – May 4, 2012) has passed away at age 47. Previously, MCA had been battling cancer and undergone surgery, and radiation treatment.

Yauch is survived by his wife Dechen Wangdu and their daughter Tenzin Losel.

Details remain scarce right now but stay tuned for more details on this heart-breaking story.

Wiz Arrested for Possession in North Carolina

It goes without saying that rapper Wiz Khalifa loves to roll up. So, it’s not like he has to prove to anyone that he does on a regular basis.


While he’s made it a habit to light up any chance he gets, the arrests are also becoming a part of his routine, as the Pittsburgh native was arrested once again for possession of marijuana, this time in North Carolina.

TMZ boke the story that Wiz was busted for the 2nd time in 10 days. They obtained the report from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina, which revealed that the rapper was ticketed for possession of marijuana after his concert in Winston-Salem last night after officers discovered 11.39 grams of pot on his tour bus.

Wiz was cited and released, but he’s required to appear in court at a later date.

It was only a little more than a week ago when he was apprehended for possession of the product in a Nashville hotel after another guest smelled the aroma coming from his room. In both instances, Wiz was able to avoid arrest, only being cited and having to appear in court at some point.

It’s uncertain the exact figures that Birdman put up to retain Lil Wayne’s recording rights, however rumors have been spreading that Wayne retained his deal with Cash Money records for a whopping $150 million. It might not be quite that high, however Birdman, the number 1 stunna himself, said that “it’s probably the biggest deal ever in urban music.”

Here’s what Birdman had to say to MTV News’ Sway Calloway, regarding Lil Wayne resigning with Cash Money:

“He announced it last week that we extended our business together. YMCMB start and stop with Wayne; it ain’t no YMCMB without Wayne. The loyalty we have with each other, for each other, the loyalty and dedication for the team…the goal for us as a whole is to be the first billion-dollar music brand, because we never had that. Period. That’s one of our goals. The move we just made was a big move to that, to make sure the pioneer of it, which is Wayne, to set the standards for it. The type of situation we did never been done in urban music; it’s probably the biggest deal ever in urban music. I’m blessed to even do that – whatever my son want, he can get. It’s all his anyway, so it don’t really matter to me. I live my life how I wanna; it’s about him and them – my team.”

News: Tyler Perry’s studio catches fire in Atlanta

The streetscapes at Tyler Perry’s Atlanta studios were ablaze on Tuesday night, sending flames into the night sky.

Although there were no injuries, investigators returned to the scene of the blaze Wednesday morning to investigate into the cause of the fire.

Dorothy Ware, who lives in a high-rise apartment next door to the complex said, “It was all in flames…. The buliding started popping. Whatever the fire was hitting, was blowing up. There were plenty of sparks coming over here where we are.”

Tee four-alarm fire drew more than 100 firefighters to the 200,000 square foot studio.
